Hellmuth & Johnson is pleased to announce that Alexandria M. Mueller has been named a 2021 Up & Coming Attorney by Minnesota Lawyer. The annual listing honors lawyers who distinguish themselves in their first 10 years of practice through professional accomplishment, leadership, and service to the community and the legal profession.
Mueller practices in Hellmuth & Johnson’s Entertainment Law, Intellectual Property and Corporate Law sections. She advises businesses of all sizes in a variety of industries, including filmmakers, event vendors, musicians and performing ensembles, composers, artists, authors and game and software developers, how to manage their rights and maximize their market potential. Mueller’s background as a composer and music business owner, her entrepreneurial mindset, and experience “in the trenches” of the entertainment industry provide a common bond with clients who put their hearts and souls into both their creative and business endeavors.
Mueller is the Chair of the Sports, Art and Entertainment Law Section of the Minnesota State Bar Association and has taught music business courses at the Institute of Production and Recording, and Saint Thomas University. She has helped develop and launch an international master’s degree program in music business though Thinkspace Education and the University of Chichester, UK. In addition, she has been a panelist and presenter for Minnesota Music Coalition, Springboard for the Arts, Film North, Catalyst Stories, American Composers Forum, Minnesota Intellectual Property Law Association, Winona State University, and the University of Minnesota. She is the author of a chapter on music transactions in the latest edition of the Intellectual Property Deskbook for Business Lawyers (published by the American Bar Association).

Mueller is an award-winning composer for films, games and other media. She studied film music composition at Berklee College of Music and holds a B.A. in Music from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point. She composed and conducted a piece dedicated to her graduating class at Mitchell Hamline School of Law which was performed as part of commencement.
