David Hellmuth,a founding partner of Hellmuth & Johnson, has been adding value for clients since the firm’s inception, representing individuals and businesses in civil litigation, creditor’s remedies, banking and financial institutions law, real estate, and community association law. David has been previously been named “Small Business Person of the Year” by the Eden Prairie Chamber of Commerce, and has served on and chaired the Board of Directors of the Minnesota Chapter of the Community Associations Institute.
A founding partner of Hellmuth & Johnson and chair of the real estate practice group, Chad Johnson serves a broad range of businesses, corporations and limited liability entities, including condominium, townhouse, cooperatives and other community associations. Chad is also a MSBA Board Certified Real Property Law Specialist.
Partner J. Robert Keena serves as chair of the firm’s litigation practice and an active member of the real estate, construction defect and property owner’s insurance coverage law practices. He has extensive commercial litigation experience in matters involving real estate disputes, shareholder disputes, trade secret protection, probate disputes, and large-scale tort actions. Robert is licensed to practice in the states of Minnesota and North Dakota.
Managing Partner Blake Nelson is a Minnesota State Bar Association Board Certified Real Property Law Specialist, a designation held by a select few Minnesota attorneys. Blake works with a diversity of businesses, primarily in the construction, real estate, banking and finance sectors, where he focuses on construction law and litigation, real estate law and litigation, general corporate representation and creditor’s remedies.
Suzanne Remington is a partner in the firm and is chair of the family law department. Suzanne primarily focuses on complex business valuation, property division, cash flow analysis relating to spousal maintenance and child support, and contested custody matters. Suzanne is a member of the Hennepin County Bar Association, Minnesota State Bar Association, Minnesota Women Lawyers and Association of Family and Conciliation Courts. Suzanne has completed certified civil mediation training and is now a qualified neutral under Rule 114.
For 35 years, partner Marshall Tanick has represented clients in a wide variety of legal matters, with emphasis on employment law, constitutional law, education law and business disputes. Marshall is a contributing columnist for Minnesota Lawyer magazine, Bench & Bar magazine, the Star Tribune newspaper, and has published many articles in newspapers, magazines, and books on business, financial, and legal topics. Marshall is licensed to practice in the states of Minnesota and California, and has been certified as a Civil Trial Specialist by the Minnesota State Bar Association for more than 20 years.
Denise Tataryn is a partner with the firm, and practices in the employment law area. She devotes a substantial portion of her practice to clients seeking long-term disability benefits and other employee benefits. Denise has been practicing in the employment law area for over 25 years and gained a special expertise with ERISA while working with the Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation. Denise is also a frequent speaker on ERISA and employment law litigation, with a particular focus on disability issues.
