Attorney Shannon Wachter Joins Hellmuth & Johnson

Hellmuth & Johnson is pleased to announce that Shannon M. Wachter has joined the firm as an associate in the firm’s Family Law practice group.

Wachter clerked for the Honorable Mary E. Madden and the Honorable Anne K. McKeig in the Hennepin County District Court – Family Division. She managed a federally funded grant through the Department of Justice’s Office on Violence Against Women called the Family Court Enhancement Project. Wachter collaborated with national domestic violence experts, judges, court administration leadership, attorneys, arbitrators, advocates, mental health providers and other community stakeholders to implement institutional changes to improve the court’s response to custody and parenting time issues for families experiencing domestic violence. She has presented nationally to multidisciplinary groups about implementing system change in courts to better account for the dynamics of domestic violence in family court proceedings.

Wachter obtained her J.D. from the University of St. Thomas School of Law and her B.A. from the University of St. Thomas. She is licensed to practice in Minnesota State Courts.
