Hellmuth & Johnson Attorneys Selected to the 2013 Rising Stars® List

Hellmuth & Johnson is proud to announce that attorneys Christopher Jones, Joel Hilgendorf, Carol Moss and Brian Niemczyk and Joseph Barnett have been selected to the 2013 Minnesota Rising Stars® list.  Each year, no more than 2.5 percent of the lawyers in the state are selected by the research team at Super Lawyers to receive this honor.

Chris Jones is a partner at the firm and a member of the real estate, construction and litigation practices where he focuses on close client relationships.  Chris’s clients include contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, business owners and property owners who are involved in a variety of transactional matters and disputes. He represents them in mediations, arbitrations and district court actions regarding mechanic’s liens, construction defect disputes and other business and commercial disputes.  Chris was elected in December 2010 to serve a three-year term on the Board of Directors for the National Association of the Remodeling Industry, Minnesota Chapter (NARI-MN).

Joel Hilgendorf is a partner at Hellmuth & Johnson and a member of both the real estate and community association practice groups.  Joel works with commercial and residential property owners, developers, banks, and condominium and townhome associations.  Joel is a member of the Real Property Sections of both the Hennepin County Bar Association and Minnesota State Bar Associations, and is certified by the Minnesota State Bar Association as a Board Certified Real Property Specialist.

Carol Moss is a member of the litigation practice group where she demonstrates her array of skills including a thorough knowledge of the law, strong analytical skills, and a deep commitment to advocating for her clients.  Carol is a Member of the Minnesota State Bar Association, Hennepin County Bar Association, Minnesota Association for Justice, Wisconsin Association for Justice, North Dakota Association for Justice, and the American Association for Justice.  She is also Chair of the City of Robbinsdale Human Rights Commission, which helps promote the goals of equal human rights, and she also provides pro bono legal work for victims of domestic violence.

Brian Niemczyk practices with the firm’s litigation group and focuses on employment law, commercial litigation, landlord-tenant litigation and real estate litigation.  Drawing on experience in all aspects of litigation, including substantial courtroom and appellate work, he represents a wide range of businesses and individuals involved in diverse real estate and commercial disputes.  Brian speaks regularly before the Minnesota Multi Housing Association, an industry group of landlords, and serves on their professional education board.

Joseph Barnett is an experienced litigator, with a primary focus on construction litigation and construction defects. He has handled matters involving third-party complaints, professional liability, premises liability, breach of contract, negligence, insurance claims and coverage, and personal injury.  Joe is a member of the Minnesota Defense Lawyers Association, the Defense Research Institute and the Minnesota State Bar Association.
